OUR COMMUNITY
This page provides information and contacts for many different aspects of our local community. Details of local voluntary organisations, local clubs and societies, local services and businesses and our local councils can all be found below.

Useful Numbers - Local Services

Click here for a list of useful contact numbers (emergencies, medical services, welfare support, schools, churches, meeting halls, leisure services, etc. as well as other local facilities and services).
Local Business Directory

Click here to find a directory of local businesses located within our villages, some of which actively support the TWRA, for example by advertising in The Tribune, whose revenue supports many of our activities.

We encourage residents to use local businesses wherever possible. Thriving local businesses very much increase the viability and attractiveness of our villages, and in many cases they are a source of local employment opportunities as well, also enhancing our local economy.
Clubs, Societies and Associations

Our villages contain a wide range of local voluntary membership organisations, clubs, societies and associations. A list of these, with contact details, is available here. If your club or society is not listed, do get in touch and let us know.
Council Matters

Tadworth and Walton on the Hill come under Reigate & Banstead Borough Council and Surrey County Council.

The Council Matters page provides details of our local borough councillors and county councillors, and an overview of their role and the responsibilities of each council.
Neighbourhood Watch

Membership of the TWRA automatically includes membership of the local Neighbourhood Watch (unless you specifically opt out when joining, or subsequently).

Our current Membership Secretary is also the local Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator, and our regular email bulletins to all members who have provided email addresses will contain Neighbourhood Watch and Police updates as well as a range of other information.

More information about Neighbourhood Watch can be found here.
Local Support Network

During the COVID pandemic a group of local residents came together under the auspices of the TWRA, the Neighbourhood Watch, St Peter’s Church, Walton, the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tadworth, and Voluntary Action, Reigate & Banstead, to provide support and assistance to those who were forced to self-isolate and had difficulty arranging shopping, collection of prescriptions, and similar tasks.

Although the pandemic is perhaps behind us, there are still residents who need to be cautious about exposure to crowded places and, of course, irrespective of COVID there are no doubt residents who may be housebound, either permanently or temporarily, for a range of reasons.

If you need such assistance, or know of anyone who does, the relevant contacts can be found here.

Tadworth Flood Action Group (Tflag)

TFlAG was formed in 2022 to bring together residents whose properties are affected by repeated flooding during times of high levels of rainfall.

Walton on the Hill Village Forum

The Walton Village Forum was born out of the 1997 Village Appraisal which sought to see how facilities could be improved for residents.

So, the Walton Village Forum was established in 1998 as a way of processing the findings of the Appraisal and as the meeting place where any matter thought to be of benefit to the residents could be discussed and the appropriate action planned.

It is a place where existing village organisations can bring forward their plans, make known their needs, concerns and requests for help from or co-operation with others.

The TWRA liaises closely with the WVF and our current Vice-chair is also a WVF Committee member.
